The 2-camera kit includes two SHB501 cameras and one SOLIOM Base. The 4-camera kit includes four SHB502 cameras and one SOLIOM Base. Choose the kit based on how many areas you want to monitor.
Can I add more cameras to the SHB501 & SHB502 system later?
Yes. The SOLIOM system supports up to 8 cameras per compatible Base. You may also be able to add the SOLIOM SH801 4K 8MP security camera for higher-resolution video.
How much local storage does the SOLIOM SHB501 include, and how many recordings can it store?
The SOLIOM SHB501 includes a 32GB SD card in the Base for local video storage and supports storage expansion up to 128GB. Depending on video length, the 32GB card can store approximately 725 one-minute video clips or 2,417 20-second clips. The cloud storage service is optional.(not mandatory).
Will the SOLIOM SHB501 & SHB502 continue recording if the internet goes down?
Yes. If your internet connection is interrupted, the SOLIOM SHB501 & SHB502 can continue recording events for up to 2 days, as long as the Base remains powered on and is not restarted.
How does the SOLIOM SHB501 & SHB502 connect to Wi-Fi? Does it support 2.4GHz and 5GHz Wi-Fi?
The SOLIOM SHB501 & SHB502 uses a Base to connect its cameras to your home network. Connect the Base to your Wi-Fi router using an Ethernet cable, and the cameras communicate wirelessly with the Base. This setup allows you to access supported camera features through the app when your network connection is available.
The system supports both 2.4GHz and 5GHz Wi-Fi networks. 2.4GHz Wi-Fi generally offers a longer range and better coverage through walls, making it useful for cameras installed farther from the router. 5GHz Wi-Fi generally offers faster data speeds but has a shorter range.
Is color night vision better than infrared?
Neither technology is universally better. Color night vision is ideal for capturing important color details, while infrared night vision works well in complete darkness without visible light.
